PLEASE STOP THE TRASHY ADS!!!

PCH Wordmania is a really great app! BUT the entire experience gets ruined by all the trashy ads that come through. I don’t mind watching ads. Especially ones from legitimate retailers. I’ve come across tons of things that I’ve purchased or added to lists for future purchases that I wouldn’t have thought of if it weren’t for the (legitimate) ads. For some reason, 90% of the ads that come through are the scammy ones. I’ve actually seen one that showed a person (holding a baby for a nice effect I might ad) claiming “I couldn’t pay my rent so I downloaded this bingo app, played for 10 minutes, and I made over $12,000 dollars”. Seriously? I’ve faced not being able to pay my rent at times so this blatant deceit is simply disgusting to me. And there are hundreds more ads just like that one. The PCH+ app is saturated with these sickening ads and I worry they will associate the PCH brand with this garbage. PCH+, PCH Lotto, PCH Wordmania, PCH Treasure Match, and PCH Slots are all truly great apps and I really do enjoy playing them. I trust and believe that I have a chance of winning actual prizes from PCH. So once more, please stop associating with these lousy ads. It’s ruining the PCH suite of apps and the enjoyment of playing. Thanks so much! (I tried breaking this review into paragraphs but my iPad or the App Store return key is not registering the breaks, sorry!)

The artistic design and creative details that’s put into making the app itself is overwhelmingly inspirational! It makes playing the games so worthwhile. I get lost in all the hopefulness of it all! It’s what dreams are made of. Thanks! PCH for still being around. Especially, for converting everything from the old school mail-in sticker/stamps to a phenomenal online app. PCH is amazing! Creating opportunities & confidence. Giving hope, inspiration & encouragement; all while having FUN!. Once people download the app PCH reminds us that… all ‘things and dreams’ are possible, if you only relax, enjoy and believe.

Best app experience possible??

Version 1.2.7 as with all prior releases arrived intending “… to make sure you get the best app experience possible!” which turns out to include a greatly increased volume of forced ads, the majority of which are 30 seconds or more, and even worse frequently divided into three 10 second ads thus requiring more attentiveness to progress, and more physical energy in the form of tapping. Speaking of tapping, the ads’ close buttons show up in various forms and inflict varying degrees of frustration - either they are not clearly obvious or visible, and/or consist of tiny X’s that are arduous to isolate and activate with anything but a precision-guided tap from a sober brain in full-concentration mode. Folks with tablets may not suffer as much as those of use who use m our phones, but certainly the developers should revisit every user-related aspect of this app, and the decision makers in the PCH conference rooms should think more carefully about how their marketing/monetary decisions impact the users upon whom they depend to generate all that precious ad revenue. As I see it, terming what has been done to this app a “better ad experience“ is about as ridiculous as I would be if I were to continue playing it given the time it now robs. No more ladies and gentlemen, no more PCH app gameplay for this loyal PCH fan. And please look for this same review for the other PCH apps - for the reasons I’ve stated above none are acceptable to me any longer.

Not working correctly

I no longer get a renewal of hints, and I no longer get a renewal of any scrambles. Also, instead of 5000 points for each game played (set of 10), I now get only 10. Chintzy. I have played 701 games (that means 7,010 individual games) and I should be rewarded, not punished. What’s wrong with you people?? I have never won anything on PCH even though I have over 460,00,000 tokens so it can’t be that you are afraid of me winning too much. Why are you doing this to me???

Publisher’s Clearinghouse App

App always glitches or freezes even when you get out of it and go back into it. I hate the timer it never acts right, usually gets stuck, then I miss checking into the app when I gotta exit & re-enter it and sometimes takes hours to reset. Therefore I lose my elite status. Also, the time to check in always see to be different. I live in AZ so we don’t do daylight savings etc. so I’m always messed up on the time. Sometimes words are misspelled. It also seems nearly impossible to win a prize unless you did nothing day and night but this game or the others like lottery etc.

Great game but technical difficulties interrupt the flow

I really enjoy this game and word puzzles in general. It’s calming, helps me take my mind off things and keeps my mind sharp. However, recently technical difficulties seem to arise every time I hit a high score. The more words you find the higher your score and the more tokens you get on completing a level. Personally I like to find as many words as possible as a challenge and to increase my vocabulary. These technical difficulties prevent me from advancing and thus I am unable to play the game the way I like to.

Total garbage.

Absolute and total garbage DO NOT download. Typically updates make things better but not with pch. With all their apps since last update, almost everyday prize entries disappear from previous day or even in matter of hours disappear or just opening and closing app they disappear. Had 40k on one app, all gone now. From the website to apps always constant problems yet they’re “working on it” monkeys working on it could do a better job. Used to be no problems worked fine but now it’s everything from crashing, entries disappearing, links on the site not working and other multiple issues but again it’s “being worked on”. Avoid at all costs for sure.

Bonus tokens

I get all these emails to get bonus tokens but when I click on it I can’t get them because it won’t go right to the app but instead goes to the App Store to open the app. By doing that it won’t recognize the bonus tokens offered to me. It works for every other game or app when I get emails for bonuses but not for this game. I have tried every way to contact PCH about it but all they do is keep referring me to technical difficulties for my data or WiFi which has nothing to do with my bonuses and opening the app to receive them. As a result I end up missing out on hundreds of thousand of tokens given to me.

it’s a good brain exercise game.

This is a great game I really enjoy playing it. I really enjoy using my mind my thoughts and thinking of the words definitely mind stimulating. This game is so much better than the other games. I’ve play on my phone the point the bonus the coins are so quickly earned and definitely reasonable hurt and you keep losing for you can you will win a coin well done great job Steve Harvey.

Fun to play but it steals your points

Don’t waste your time if you think you are adding “tickets” to win the weekly prize because it steals your points! Nobody will fix it or respond to you because they they HAVE been told it is NOT working, they don’t care. If you are just playing a game to lull time away, then chances are this is a great game to pick! But don’t believe you are earning extra tickets, they just get wiped away. Twice this week I had my points stolen, first time it was over 2,000 points second time was 3 days later when they took over 30,000 points and the contest for this prize doesn’t end for another 2 days. THEY DON’T CARE!

I absolutely love that’ll the games that I have play forPCH.. Then I go to plat can’t remember the game.. but we’re the car gos around and you when tokens.. my phone will not let me play it.. mind you 3 days left and I can’t get it to do nothing.. Been involved in PCH

Started in the 60’s when it was just buying magazines. Played and bought whatever they offered over the years. Realize that you better play for fun, buy what you want because only wealthier people in the big states win. There are people that really need and would appreciate but they want upper class to show in areal nice house. It looks good for there standards. Sad, very sad. But very true.

I like the game and all it is challenging sometimes. But what I DO NOT LIKE IS HAVING TO BE FORCED TO WATCH THOSE STUPID VIDEOS IN ORDER TO COLLECT MY COINS ECT… You guys make so much money why force us to watch videos that we don’t give a flip about just to give you a payout for showing those really dumb videos. And the ones that you show that promise to pay us tons of money that is false advertising which is against the law, and if continue to make us watch them then I will file a Complaint to the FTC and start an investigation. I’m really tired as well as many other people of watching false videos. JUST A WARNING!

KEEP THE RIGHT AND THE LEFT BRAIN YOUNG

It’s a good thing I learned how to spell as a youngster because without that skill set, you’d be lost in never never land while trying to figure out these little word puzzles! You can keep your brain young and agile by doing these simple puzzles and your memory as sharp as a tack! Get going and have fun while you learn to spell again! You’ll be amazed at the things you can recall!

this game has kept me out of my head. I have a goal to shoot for. I am currently in a nursing home in Tampa for having a stroke. I’m only 51 years old. I just want to feel like I can accomplish something. I never thought anyone or anything can keep me down. I was wrong, I just had to find something to do or a goal to accomplish.

Love words

I love the game. It doesn’t have a lot a ads to constantly disrupt my play time. I wish there was a settings buttons so I can turn the game music. Also, as the levels become more difficult, I would like to be able to click the bonus words button to see the bonus words I have listed. But overall, the game is great. I spend more time on this app now than other apps on my phone.

Ongoing Technical Difficulties

I have been trying to get access to Word Mania since yesterday and I keep getting the “Oops we are experiencing technical difficulties.” This is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that I play the speed rounds and there have been several times where I would go on to play the current speed round only to find that the previous round I played showed as “missed.” I’m getting frustrated with all this nonsense. Something needs to be done to fix all the problems.

Nice!

I love the game, missing some words, but overall fun. The only complaint I have is I can’t find a way to look at what entries I’ve already made. I can see my weekly grand prize number of entries but there’s no way to tell how many entries I’ve made on prize giveaways via the redeem section. Editors please make a way to see your current entries! That would help quite a bit. Maybe some more words too...

Absolutely love this app me and my neighbor will sit here for hours playing this soo much fun I do hope as the app grows u can add a sections for experts that has like 2 circles at once and maybe one is timed with harder words more inventive so u need to unlock with coins than I have option to double or triple your tickets and winnings if you got the skills

Great game!!

I am and avid puzzle type gamer. What I love about this game is that it could actually give back to you. This game from PCH gives the highest token payout, which helps you enter more giveaways. I just wish you got extra tokens for the time you have left after getting all the words in the speed round. Wonderful game!

My Opinion

1. I downloaded this game because of Steve Harvey. I think I might delete the game because of incessant ads and no options so far too get rid of them. Also, where’s the settings button to silence the annoying music. I can’t play this game in public and I’m not willing to turn the volume down on my phone just for this game. 2. In this day and age with all the companies being hacked, you sure ask a lot of personal questions AND right off the bat too! At least buy me dinner first. Seriously though, it would be better to leave my email and opt in to notifications so when I win, I could provide all the needed info. To Sum it up: TOO MANY ADS!! EVEN THE ADS YOU HAVE ARE TOO LONG!! IT IS NOT CLEAR HOW TO TURN OFF THE MUSIC TOO MUCH INFO REQUIRED FOR A CHANGE TO WIN SIDE NOTE: If I wind up getting blown up with notifications I’m out.

Glitchy and getting worse

The word game itself is pretty fun but it does glitch sometimes. In the last 24 hours I’ve noticed that the games are much easier than before which is boring and there’s been less rewards. I deleted the app and reinstalled it to see if this would change any of the other issues I noticed (missing menu items on screen) and I couldn’t get the app to start at all. Please look into this when you get a chance

I am playing this game for almost a year, and they to collect as many tickets as i can but never won a single time. I dont know that if people really wins or they just give fake name and id so that we keep playing and watch their ads. I am from Illinois( just want to know that is there anything related to the state?) how can some gets more than 15k tickets every week still not won a single time??

Word lover

I’m a word lover and love your game, but I did a stupid survey for $100 and never received it. As a matter of a fact, the survey was starting a third time when I closed it out. I’d already done it twice. Now my messaging inbox is going crazy with offers that in an now suspicious of. It’s such a shame. Yeah I’ll play the game, but am reporting all of those texts as SPAM. (such a waste of my time!)

I love the game it’s great for my old brain. It has some issues at times we’re words are spelled wrong. Also at times you will put a word in and it will tell you it’s not it. Then you put it in again and it takes it. These things don’t happen a lot, but when they do it’s irritating.

To many adds. This game is like all the others. Ads start slow not to many. Than the next thing you’re watching one after another. I watched three adds for extra entries and so far all I got were the first fifty. There should be 60 and 80 extra entries. I won after years of playing

I have played PCH games for years and imagine my surprise when I received a letter with a real check inside from PCH. The check was only $10 but it cost nothing to play. Playing the games are fun so what’s the harm. I just hope the $10 was my once in three lifetimes chance.

Woops message when the app crashes

I have routinely gotten the Woops message and can resolve it by closing the app and reopening. However when I completed game 477 on the last word it crashes with the Woops message and will not rectify. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app 3 times wit the same result. Thius I cannot go any further in the game.

Very Fun, Accessible, & Addictive!!

A solid 5 out of 5!! I just started playing today and it’s fun, addictive, and most important for me, IT’S ACCESSIBLE!!! I would highly recommend this game for visually impaired people wanting to kill some time playing a word game. Also, it’s Publisher’s Clearinghouse so you’re guaranteed to win something randomly!

NO REAL REWARDS

I have been playing this game for over a year and have NEVER WON one NICKEL! I don't know if this game is even connected to Steve Harvey but if it is this is NOT A GOOD LOOK FOR MR HARVEY!! I am very SKEPTICAL even more so than EVER that the WINNERS they post ARE COMPLETELY FAKE!! I think I am done wasting my time on this foolishness!!! No super prize and trees after first week of playing

Played this game daily to earn super prizes as advertised, but after the first week it stoppedOffering the entries. Thought it was a temporary glitch and have continued to come back daily to play for three weeks without ever being offered a chance to enter for super prizes

Why I say yes to this game

This game is for all age’s and has vivid graphics and a positive storyline if you will. Think about it, no matter how old or young a person , you never stop learning. All PCH Games

For years, I’ve been playing 4 different PCH games that claim to have sweepstakes and multiple giveaways. I believe this to be false. A lie. I’ve played hours on top of hours for days, weeks, earning millions of tokens and game entries for years. I’ve never won one single sweepstake. I believe these games are just like every other advertised app games false advertising. There are no winners. The word games are fun and challenging, but don’t expect to win a real prize or money.

Addicting App!

I love this PCH App! I have played it for years. It keeps my vocabulary open and mind active. It is satisfying to complete levels an earn tokens. I haven’t won any daily prizes nor sweepstakes. The App does ask me to close sometimes due to technical difficulties or issues but when I reopen the App, all my game data is saved which makes me happy! #dream&believe

Buy them a dictionary

The developers of the app need to buy themselves a good dictionary. All too often I find words but get the response “word not found”. Also, the speed round is supposed to give you the same amount of time every time to find as many words as possible. The problem is it’s not always the same amount of time. WRF is up with that… seriously? The app is fun but would be better if PCH hired some decent developers/coders to make it work properly 100% of the time.

That’s it I’m done

I have been playing this for months. Never win anything but that’s fine, I actually enjoy the games so it didn’t bother me. But for the second time , I have updated and the first time the game would glitch. That was fixed. This second time, I updated and now every one of the points I have accumulated is not recording. So I’m done. I’m also deleting the main PCH app as well it’s just taking up space.

Word scramble

I enjoy playing this game. I’m 65 years old and this game has helped me to improve my memory ,and it has helped me to stay stress free. While I’m playing the game I don’t have any worries. And when the game tires me out. I go to sleep. And I sleep comfortably. I wake up the next day fully energized. What a great game!!

Fun

I love this game words is my favorite kind of game but the ads are way to much. I just want to spend time making words not watching ads. You have to watch an ad after every play such a shame and waste of time. Fun games otherwise.

Fun Game

I like word games as it keeps my mind busy. I won’t get my hopes up on winning something. I do wish there was a way to get an instant prize like gift cards with the tokens or entries we put on it. I also like that it’s free to play and you don’t have to use money to play.

Slowwwwww

It’s so slow when swiping to make words. Similar games have a much more seamless and better response when entering words. Other games work fine on my phone so I don’t think that is the issue. This issue makes it difficult to complete timed rounds and makes for a frustrating experience. Also, the ads are just too much. I love me some word games but this has been disappointing so far.

Challenges you to come up with words you may not use on a regular bases. Some puzzles are a lot easier than others. This game keeps your brain thinking. It is amazing how many words you can make from just on word! Great game!

Fun but has issues...

Sometimes its fun to win some of the games snd get daily rewards but.... * too many ads (and sometimes inappropriate) * random connection errors which resents everythibf (recently [this past sast Saturday]) i had an 7 day streak of 300 daily reward tokens. There was a connection error so i couldn't chrck in. Next day i dropped down to day1. Have tried to contact corporate (multiple ways) and no response)

Good but typos make it impossible

I’ve been playing with this for a long time and enjoyed it but recently I have encountered typos in the app. I’ve been a dedicated daily player and typos can make it impossible to progress so I had to lower my ranking I don’t know where to submit typos in the app so I’m sharing that here. Fun game but still waiting to win.

This is a fun game and I like the fact that I could win. I been playing a while now and still no luck. PCH should make a bunch of small prizes available to a small number of participants so it would keep peoples interest in the game if we won something more often.

Steve Harvey ℹ thought I could trust

The app has too many ads. There’s a threshold to collect winnings. We need to read the fine print at the bottom of each ad before downloading or like this game, we’re just wasting our time and getting our hopes up for not what we thought was going to pay to our PayPal immediately. There’s got to be a lawyer out there who is willing to stand up for the damages I’ve been through. So disappointed in Steve Harvey here!
