MV Kestrel Cruiser[edit]

You start with this ship. No unlock needed.

MV Federation Cruiser[edit]

Get to sector 5 with the MV Kestrel cruiser.

MV Stealth Cruiser[edit]

Get to sector 5 with the MV Federation cruiser.

MV Harmony Cruiser[edit]

Get to sector 5 with the MV Stealth cruiser.

MV Union Cruiser[edit]

Get to sector 5 with the MV Harmony cruiser.

MV Imperial Cruiser[edit]

Get to sector 5 with the MV Union cruiser.

MV Spectral Cruiser[edit]

Get to sector 5 with the MV Imperial cruiser.

MV Augmented Cruiser[edit]

Get to sector 5 with the MV Spectral cruiser.

Proto-MV-Cruiser[edit]

A: Unlock all other MV cruisers (excepting the MV Flagship).

B: Reach sector 8 with layout A.

C: Win in any way with with layout B.

MV Flagship[edit]

A: Complete the True Ending.

B: Win in any way with layout A.

C: Win in any way with layout B.

Union Cruiser[edit]

A: Win in any way with any ship on page 1, except the MV Flagships.

B: Reach sector 5 with layout A.

C. Reach sector 5 with layout B, or win in any way with layout A.

Militia Cruiser[edit]

A: The unlock quest is in the unique sector Militia Encampment [!].

Find the Murder Mystery event. Go aboard the station, be greeted by the legendary Sherlock Haynes, and solve the mystery to continue. You can spend as long as you want investigating, but ensure you've looked at everything before you make an accusation, otherwise the quest will fail.

The quickest way to solve the mystery is thus:

1. Inspect the corpse.

2. Inspect the station -> Investigate the Dronebay -> Inspect the Anti-Personnel drone -> Inspect the drone's laser.

3. Speak to Sherlock or one of the suspects -> Talk to Daniel -> Ask Daniel about evidence -> Ask Daniel about the drone system.

4. Speak to Sherlock or one of the suspects -> Talk to Thom -> Ask Thom about evidence -> Ask Thom about the drone system -> Call out Thom on his lie.

5. Accuse a suspect -> None of them killed Henry personally. It was the drone who fired the fatal shot -> It was Thom!

Once you solve the mystery and Thom confesses, he will mention an impending attack on the Militia hangars. Haynes will join you and you'll get a new, fleet-immune quest beacon marked 'HANGAR'. Once you arrive, you'll be enlisted to defeat a hijacked Militia dreadnought under a time limit, and once you do, you will unlock the Militia Cruiser.

Alternatively, you can win the game in any way with any layout of the Union Cruiser to unlock the Militia Cruiser.

B: Reach sector 5 with layout A.

C: Reach sector 5 with layout B or win in any way with layout A.

Kestrel Cruiser[edit]

A: The unlock quest is in the unique sector Union Coreworlds [!].

Find the Antique Shipyards event. Accept Dewey's hail and and take his job offer in exchange for "that old Kestrel". You'll get a unique crew drone named Gana (which is not in any way necessary to complete the quest) as well as a fleet-immune quest marker called 'THIEVES'.

Once you arrive at the quest marker, get the pirates to 3-4 hull to make them surrender. If you kill them, you will fail the quest. Once you do that, you'll acquire the next quest marker from them (which is also fleet-immune), marked 'KASPAROV'.

Head there, defeat the guarding pirate ship by any means, and you'll unlock the Kestrel Cruiser.

Alternatively, you can win the game in any way with any layout of the Militia Cruiser to unlock the Kestrel Cruiser.

B: Reach sector 5 with layout A.

C: Reach sector 5 with layout B or win in any way with layout A.

Federation Cruiser[edit]

A: The unlock quest is in the unique sector Federation Embassy [!].

Find the Node 17 Memorial event. Rebels will begin attacking, so stay there and fight off an MFK Gunboat Ace. Once you succeed, Vice Admiral Adara will give you a medal, a package to deliver to Admiral Tully in The Last Stand, a modified Heavy Laser II, ship repairs, and the blueprints for the Federation Cruiser.

Alternatively, you can win the game in any way with any layout of the Kestrel Cruiser to unlock the Federation Cruiser.

B: Reach sector 5 with layout A.

C: Reach sector 5 with layout B or win in any way with layout A.

Stealth Cruiser[edit]

A: The unlock quest is in the unique sector Federation Embassy [!].

To unlock this ship, you'll need one of the following crew members:

  • Harmony Engi
  • Engi Defender

Find the Federation/Engi Fleet Discussion event. You'll need to hail them with your Engi crew member, after which they will give you two quest markers to investigate for their stolen prototype ship. One of them will be a fake-out, with a Rebel ship present, and the other will be real, with a Mantis Suzerain ship present. There is no way to tell which is which until you jump there.

Once you find the Suzerain ship, crew kill them or accept their surrender (which occurs when they reach 5 hull). Once you do that, you'll get the third and final quest marker.

At the last quest marker, you'll need to defeat an MFK Ace, and once you do, you'll be able to contact the Engi. They will provide hull repairs, Titanium System Casing, and the Stealth Cruiser.

Alternatively, you can win the game in any way with any layout of the Federation Cruiser to unlock the Stealth Cruiser.

B: Reach sector 5 with layout A.

C: Reach sector 5 with layout B or win in any way with layout A.

Equinoid Cruiser[edit]

A: The unlock quest is in the unique sector Union Coreworlds [!].
